Hello everyone, my name is Paul Latham and I have set this page up for Chris, Cheryl, Maisie and Mabel. I have known Chris for over 35 years, he's my best friend and one of the good ones - as is his lovely wife to be Cheryl and Mabel's big sister Maisie. Earlier this week however their whole world was turned upside down when their 4 year old daughter Mabel was diagnosed with Battens Disease. It first began in January with Mabel having a seizure and frightening them to bits. The seizures continued and eventually she was diagnosed with epilepsy. They started meds, with Mabel having a number of other tests and scans. This week they were told the devastating news it was in fact Battens Disease

Battens is a cruel childhood disease which has no cure and is severely life limiting. It is neurodegenerative, which means Mabel will deteriorate over the coming years. She has already started to lose the ability to walk and struggles with her speech, after that blindness becomes a real possibility.

I have set up this page so people can help give their whole family memories they will never forget, whilst Mabel is still healthy enough to enjoy them. So if you are able, please give what you can - any donation whether big or small I know will be hugely appreciated.
