Help Create Lisa Pringle's Happily Ever After

If you have ever met Lisa Pringle, you know she is one of a kind. She is one of the most wonderful humans you'll ever meet.

She is so many things to so many people. She is a shining light, a role model, a safe space, a mentor, a teacher, and a friend. She has been a mother to many and a protector to even more. She listens without judgment and loves unconditionally. She overflows with endless kindness, generosity, and patience. She is incredibly humble and oh so wise. She understands different ways of thinking and uses this to make each and everyone feel special. She always knows just what to say, even when it's nothing at all. She is strong and determined. She always shows up. She is the true embodiment of love.

On May 1st, Lisa underwent open-heart surgery. During the surgery, she experienced a major stroke, paralyzing the right side of her body and leaving her without the ability to speak or breathe on her own. The areas affected in her brain are connected to speech, comprehension, and reading. The following day, she was rushed to emergency surgery. The stroke caused significant swelling of her brain and required a craniotomy to relieve pressure and save her life.

Lisa spent four weeks in the ICU. Unable to breathe on her own, she was intubated and fed through a tube. It was uncertain if she would survive. Slowly, she began to show improvements. The feeding tube in her nose was eventually replaced with a tube in her stomach and small intestine. A tracheostomy was performed as a stepping stone to wean her off the ventilator. She was then accepted into a rehabilitation program, where she stayed for over a month. She regained movement in her face and right leg. Her right arm, ankle, and foot are still affected. She now continues with outpatient therapy. With endless determination, she is regaining her ability to speak, write, and walk. She is finally free of her trach and feeding tubes. We anticipate the bone flap of her skull to be replaced sometime in August.

We are hopeful that with time, determination, and the power of God, she will fully regain her ability to speak and walk on her own. We are currently preparing for whatever long-term care she may need. We are raising funds for a specialized attorney who will help navigate us through the legal complexities of long-term care planning and insurance coverages.

Her home is in the process of being renovated to accommodate her current mobility. We are adding a first-floor bedroom and handicap bathroom. She is temporarily staying with family as she awaits the completion of these projects. She is grateful to be out of the hospital and anxiously awaits the day she will return home. She will continue her speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy at home.

With deepest gratitude, we are accepting donations to help Lisa find her happily ever after. We have a goal of $21,000. Funds raised will go towards the following:

$12,500 for legal services setting up her long-term care and insurance.

$8,000 for bedroom, bathroom, and home handicap renovations.

$500 for miscellaneous expenses; travel to appointments, items to enhance recovery, etc.
