Hello, my name is Stephen Larkin.

Several years ago, I purchased this historic church in Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary, to protect it from being lost and to give it a meaningful new future. Since then, I have invested years of work, personal sacrifice and my own resources into preserving the building and planning its restoration.

My aim is to transform the church into a welcoming Christian arts and well-being centre where people can reflect, connect, learn and take part in positive community activities.

The restored church could provide space for:

* Christian fellowship, reflection and well-being activities

* Music, art, talks and educational events

* Weddings, celebrations and community gatherings

* Children’s activities and family events

* Displays exploring the life of Jesus Christ, Christian history and art

* A planned educational exhibition relating to the Shroud of Turin

The building has beautiful original features, including approximately 15 stained-glass windows. Some remain largely intact, while others have damaged or missing sections. However, the work required goes far beyond the windows.

The church also needs repairs and improvements involving:

* Stained-glass conservation and temporary weatherproofing

* Stonework and traditional building repairs

* Electrical wiring and safety improvements

* Insulation, heating and draught reduction

* Internal walls and partitions

* Flooring, tiling and practical facilities

* Materials, equipment and specialist professional advice

Our initial fundraising target is €20,000. This will help us begin the most urgent work needed to make the building safer, drier and more usable while protecting its historic character.

This is a long-term project, but every repair completed brings us closer to reopening the church as a place of faith, heritage, creativity, well-being and community.

We will share regular photographs, videos and progress updates so supporters can see the work being carried out and understand how donations are being used.
