Help Craig's Family with Final Expenses and Memories

Hello,

My name is Craig Desrosiers and I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and have been through multiple rounds of chemo treatments and radiation treatments. While the doctors say the cancer is not curable, they say they can treat it and extend my life expectancy. Some of the treatments have shown success in reducing mass size; others have shown no effect and have been discontinued. The cancer started in my lung and spread to my clavicle before getting noticed and diagnosed. Since treatments have been ongoing, several scans have been performed, and some found further spread of the cancer to my brain, rib, and vertebrae. The doctors still have not been able to give me a definitive answer to how long I have, but I feel that news is coming soon.

My finances have never been such that I could afford to invest in my retirement or even acquire life insurance to protect my wife and family from this situation, and I feel a GoFundMe campaign may help in taking care of the final expenses associated with my passing. I do not wish for my wife and children to be burdened with those costs. I would also love to leave them a gift of a family vacation to Florida before I pass if enough money is donated.

Years ago, when the kids were young, my wife and I saved up for several years and planned a surprise vacation to Daytona Beach as a family. This was the first family vacation we could muster together, and we were lucky enough to have access to my parents' mobile home for the week and budgeted just enough money to cover food and fuel. While we didn’t splurge on much, we grew much tighter as a family, spending days on the beach and cooking basic meals in the trailer. We had just enough cash left to bring the kids to the Daytona Speedway and see their displays. They were interested in NASCAR, so they had a blast and remember every detail now 20 years later. We always wanted to go back but could never afford the hotel prices to do it again after my parents died and we no longer had use of their trailer to stay in.
