Our friend Craig — a familiar and beloved figure in the Seattle music scene — recently had his car broken into. His guitar (which he’s played for nearly 20 years and is featured on the cover of Happy Heartbreak's "Flight Risk" album), his amp, pedalboard, and even his rollerblades and sunglasses (!!!) were all stolen.
In the Seattle music scene, there are few faces more well known than that of Craig Suede. He plays in multiple bands, including mine (Dearheart), and is constantly performing, recording, and supporting other artists. If there’s a show happening, chances are Craig’s either on the bill or in the crowd cheering others on. His presence is a steady force in the community.
Unlike many of us who juggle music with day jobs, Craig’s livelihood is music. This theft wasn’t just a hit to his gear — it was a hit to his ability to work, create, and continue doing what he loves.
To add insult to injury, this happened right as Dearheart started recording for our next full-length! So now Craig doesn't have the gear he needs to get the album done!
I know firsthand how heartbreaking it is to find your gear stolen — and I also know how powerful it is when the community steps in to help replace it all. It truly helps make a shitty situation a little better.
We’re seeking to raise $3,500 to help replace what was lost and get Craig back on the stage where he belongs. No donation is too small (or too big)!
