Last week, we experienced a miracle.

Our good mate Craig survived an extensive aortic dissection, a life threatening heart condition. Thanks to the quick thinking of our amazing doctors and nurses here in Kununurra, it was caught and treated early. Within hours, he was flown to Perth for emergency open-heart surgery that saved his life.

Craig now faces a long recovery, far from home and away from his family. He lives here on his own, is on a working visa, and has no access to Medicare or government health support. While insurance covers some costs, there’s still a big gap. Craig will need weeks to recover and the travel, accommodation, rehab, medications, and everyday living expenses all add up.

Craig came to Australia to build a better life and has given so much to his workplace and our community. He’s the kind of friend who’s always first to lend a hand. Now it’s our turn to be there for him.
