My name is Craig Harris and I am a 57 year old man living in Woodlawn, Md. I am experiencing a financial hardship due to loss of work. I am writing this letter for financial assistance.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Towson University and for some time have worked teaching STEM & Chess to children of all ages. A year ago, Morgan State Chess Club contacted me in search of a coach for their chess team. I am a life master chess player and a respected chess coach. It took Morgan a year to determine that I was their choice. I was asked to provide several demonstration classes along the way. They decided to hire me this January and I was all in.
But without cause they stop the program after two weeks. Now I am without resources to cover my expenses. I own a home with a $800 monthly mortgage and am now 3 months behind on paying it. I received a letter 15 days ago that I have 45 days to bring my payment up to date.
Though I have other expenses, I don't want to lose my home. It is all I have. I believe I can avoid the impending foreclosure, but I can't do it without caring people to offer financial help. I am sending this letter to you because I believe you are someone that can help.
The bottom line is this:
--by April 30, 2017, I need to make a payment of $3200 which includes the 3 months in arrears and 1 month going forward. At the moment, I am looking for work and selling my possessions for money.
--My BG bill is over $400 and somehow it is still on. I have received a second turn off notice. During the summer the bill is $70 and during the winter it is $200 max
--I have an auto insurance bill that is $116/month
I also want you to consider this:
If you have a youth program that can benefit from classes in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, chess too. I am very skilled in delivering classes or camps of this type to youth. During the past year I have taught project based Rocketry and Robotics classes that were hands-on and funded by private and public agencies. Maybe this can be a win-win for me during a difficult time.
My phone will be open anytime day or night.
Thank you,
Craig Harris
