Help Craig and Family Through Cancer Journey

My name is Lori and I’ve known Craig since elementary school. The following words are directly from Craig and what him and his family have been going through these last few months.

I have stage 4 metastatic esophageal cancer, it all started around Halloween, I saw my doctor a lot during the next few months and we settled on a cologuard test and an upper GI. The cologuard test came back positive and I had both the upper and lower GI scheduled January 6, 2025. After I woke up from anesthesia the doctor came in and said that the lower gi was fine but the upper showed esophageal cancer, a biopsy was taken and it confirmed the doctors suspicion. I was then scheduled for a CT scan that showed that the cancer has metastasized to my liver. A biopsy of my liver showed that it is the same adenocarcinoma that is in my esophagus.

I’ve been unemployed since July, I have been applying for many positions and in October I interviewed to manage 3 funeral homes in Northern Wisconsin. That opportunity presented itself January 28, 2025 just after my diagnosis of esophageal cancer and I had to decline the offer to concentrate on my care.

Stacey and I have been married almost 25 years and we have 3 boys. Our youngest son is a type-1 diabetic and was diagnosed in 2018.

We have exhausted our savings and then we were hit with my prognosis of metastatic esophageal cancer.
