On Saturday, December 20, 2025, Craig McLaughlin and his wife Evelyn experienced a devastating and life-altering house fire that resulted in the total loss of their home and belongings.

At the time of the fire, Evelyn and a nearly 8-year-old family friend, Leilani, were inside the trailer when the refrigerator began smoking and making popping noises. Thanks to Evelyn’s quick instincts and fierce protective nature, she immediately got herself and Leilani out safely. Moments later, an explosion occurred and the trailer was completely engulfed in flames.

In the fire, they lost everything—their home, possessions, and tragically, Evelyn’s beloved cat, Ziggy, who was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

While Craig and Evelyn are incredibly grateful that everyone was physically safe, they are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting over from nothing. Their immediate needs include clothing, personal care items, and basic necessities, along with longer-term support as they work to rebuild after this traumatic experience.

Craig’s knowledge, generosity, and kindness have left a lasting impact on so many of us. As their Pro Tree family, we want to take action now and surround them with the same love and support they have always given—support they would never ask for themselves.

All funds raised will be given directly to Craig and Evelyn to help them recover and rebuild during this incredibly difficult time.
