One year ago, a dream became reality in downtown Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
On June 5, 2025, Cozy Kitty Café opened its doors as the Poconos’ only cat café — built with one mission: Rescue cats. Vet them. Socialize them. And help them find loving homes in a cage-free environment.
Since that day, something incredible has happened. ❤️ Over 150 rescue cats have found their forever homes.
Cats that were once abandoned, found outside, or left with no options are now safe, loved, and thriving — because of this café and this community.
⸻ But Right Now, We’re Facing a Critical Moment Saving cats comes with a heavy cost… and right now, it’s catching up to us. We currently have a $3,000+ veterinary bill that is URGENT.
This isn’t routine care. Many of the cats we take in come to us: • Extremely sick • Injured • Unvetted and in need of full medical workups • Requiring long-term treatment plans and multiple vet visits We step in when others can’t — when rescues are full, when cats are found outside, when there is nowhere else for them to go. And we take on ALL of the cost to get them healthy and ready for adoption.
Every single cat receives: • Spay/neuter surgery • Vaccinations • Deworming • Combo testing • Microchipping • Socialization in a cage-free environment
But right now, our vet bill is so high that we are being forced to pause intake — while we continue getting calls every single day about cats that need help.
⸻ Our Next Big Step: Becoming a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Right now, Cozy Kitty Café is a small, female-owned business funding rescue work entirely on our own.
Becoming an official nonprofit will allow us to: • Apply for grants • Accept tax-deductible donations • Receive corporate sponsorships • Access larger funding opportunities • Rescue more cats without hitting financial limits
