A huge THANK YOU for your support- Cowboy came through his recent surgery just fine and is recovering. He and Nike and Larry came for a visit last Tuesday at the hospice house and they really made our day. So grateful for all of you folks.
We are raising funds for a very deserving therapy dog named Cowboy.
Cowboy is a loving and delightful Shih Tzu who, along with his dad, Larry C. (Air Force Veteran), and his brother, Nike, are volunteers at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Together, they also visit residents of a local Albuquerque nursing home and provide a comforting presence at the Albuquerque Sunport for weary travelers at the airport.
This dedicated trio, composed of two Shih Tzus and their loving human, provide companionship and a healing/therapeutic presence for our Veterans, as well as for their families who visit the hospital.
On any given Tuesday and Friday morning, Cowboy, Nike, and Larry also visit the VA Hospice House, providing solace, love, and smiles to those Veterans who are going through the end-of-life transition and the healthcare providers who provide comfort care for our Veterans.
- On June 24, 2025, Cowboy will have anterior cruciate ligament (ACL or CCL) surgery. The veterinarian's surgery estimate is $3,700 for the procedure.
So that Cowboy can continue to provide companionship and comfort to our Veterans in need, especially at the end of their lives, the friends of Cowboy, Nike, and Larry encourage you to make a donation (any amount is appreciated) to cover the cost of the surgery.
Your generous donation towards Cowboy's ACL surgery helps Cowboy’s loyal service to all of our Veterans who benefit from canine therapy. Your support is greatly appreciated by all of us who honor and serve our Veterans.
Thank you Cowboy, Nike, and Larry C. for your continued service to our Veterans and our Albuquerque community.
