Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this. ****Here is another update:

Cove is back in the hospital for a procedure for his leg. One of the things he had diagnosed to
him very young was rickets in his left leg causing it to bow out. He now has a metal rod running along the inside of his leg to help with growth and straightening it out for however long they think it will take. He will also be going back in for an IVIG to help boost his new kidney to keep it clear of infection and rejection. I his father has been home out of work helping him out with home care and currently trying to find placement in a more convenient job and his mother has been working hard in schooling to make a new career for herself and family’s needs. If you would like to help out in any way or be a support for Cove and his family, you can do so here. Thank you to all and God bless you!

We’re reaching out to ask for help as we navigate a very difficult and urgent situation involving our son, Covington.

Many of you have followed his journey over the past five years, and you know it hasn’t been easy. Covington was diagnosed in utero with LUTO and end-stage renal disease. Thanks to an incredible team of doctors, he received a kidney transplant in 2023. Unfortunately, since then, he’s had several close calls, and we’ve been fighting hard to keep his transplant from failing.

One of the ongoing treatments Covington receives is IVIG therapy—something he now requires several times a year. While it’s a critical part of helping his immune system and protecting the kidney, it comes with serious risks. Each round of IVIG tends to reactivate the BK virus in his system, which causes kidney inflammation and puts his transplant at greater risk. It’s been a necessary evil—until now.

This most recent round of IVIG came with a delayed reaction that’s deeply concerning. It’s possible we may no longer be able to use this treatment going forward, which places us in an even more difficult position medically and emotionally as we work with his care team to figure out our next steps.

In the meantime, we continue with home treatments and do everything possible to protect and support his health. I’m working long hours to keep us afloat, and my wife stays home full-time to care for Covington and our other children. She contributes when she can from home, but the demands of caregiving and medical needs have become overwhelming.

We’re humbly asking for help. Any support—financial, shares, prayers—means the world to us and helps keep Covington’s care going during this critical time.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, and God bless.
