Help Cover Vladimir's Emergency Medical Costs Today
Donación protegida
Hello dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
My name is Lana, and I am trying to raise funds to cover my dad's unexpected emergency medical treatment. On September 11, 2024, my parents arrived in Dallas from Greece. In Greece, my dad, Vladimir, developed a UTI infection and was on an oral antibiotic treatment prescribed by a Greek doctor.
However, unfortunately, the prescribed antibiotic did not work for the bacteria my dad got sick with, and on September 13th, we landed in the ER as my dad was in unbearable pain, with an extremely high fever (the underarm thermometer was showing 105.5°F) and seizures.
In the ER of Medical City McKinney, my dad was diagnosed with a bladder infection, sepsis, liver, and kidney failure. From McKinney, he was rushed to Medical City Dallas in an ambulance, as only the Dallas campus had the liver specialist that could assess his liver condition.
In Medical City Dallas, my dad was hospitalized and spent 5 days in the hospital. Luckily, his sepsis was caught on time, and his organs are slowly returning to normal functioning. Words can't describe how relieved we were when we learned that my dad will be okay.
However, our happiness and relief also go together with the worry and concern of how we will be able to pay for this life-saving treatment. My dad has travel insurance, but it is covering just a little portion of our huge medical bills. My parents are retired and simply don't have funds to cover this treatment. Plus, they don't live in the US and don't qualify for any public medical emergency relief program.
That's why I am here asking for any donation - big or small - or any share and spreading the word about our fundraising efforts. Please help us to take this financial burden off my parents' shoulders.
With appreciation,
Lana Scott
