On the night of March 20th, my nephew Tim was in a tragic accident when a car, with no lights on, pulled out in front of him, causing a devastating T-bone crash. Tim was flown to UVA Medical Center, where doctors assessed the extent of his injuries. Both of his legs were fractured, and he underwent extensive surgery on March 21st, which took several hours but was ultimately successful.
After surgery, Tim's condition worsened. His oxygen levels dropped and he was placed on a ventilator. Doctors discovered fat emboli in his brain and lungs, which caused serious complications and lead to a difficult conversation that Tim may not survive this. Doctors told his family that the next 48 hours would determine his future.
The community came together, and thousands of people began praying for his recovery. By God’s grace, Tim started to slowly improve, and just this past week, he was able to come off the ventilator. Doctors are amazed at his progress, especially considering the serious concerns about brain swelling and paralysis.
Tim is still at UVA, making small but steady improvements each day. While we are grateful for the progress he has made, his recovery is far from over. Tim will need several months of rehabilitation and a long road to regain full physical and neurological function.
Unfortunately, Tim does not have health insurance, which means the financial burden on his family will be overwhelming. We’re asking for your help to ease some of the financial stress they are facing during this incredibly challenging time. If you’re able, please consider donating to support Tim's medical expenses, rehabilitation, and the ongoing care he will need to fully recover.
We believe in the power of prayer and community, and we are so grateful for the support that has already been shown.
Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
