Help Cover the Unpaid Funeral Costs for Desmond Shaw

Why I’m Fundraising

I never thought I’d be here asking for help, but sometimes life leaves us carrying more than we can manage alone.

When Desmond passed away, I stepped in to make sure he had the dignity of a proper funeral and a wake where people could say their goodbyes. I covered the costs in good faith — a total of £1,400 for the funeral shortfall and food for the wake — expecting that the family would contribute. Sadly, this has not happened, and I’ve been left with the full amount on my shoulders.

This fundraiser is simply to help me recover what I paid so that Desmond could have the farewell he deserved. It is not for luxuries, and it is not personal debt — it is the outlay for his funeral and wake, which I should never have had to cover alone.

Why this matters

Desmond’s daughter Michaela has already paid her share in full, and my only aim now is to recover the costs I carried on behalf of others.

Every single donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference in helping me clear this debt. Every share helps reach someone else who may be willing to show kindness.
