Hello everyone, my name is Haley, and I am fundraising in hopes to help cover some of the expenses that have come along with my grandfather's death.
On October 4th, our family reported Louis missing from Baie-St-Anne, where he lived a peaceful, fulfilling life with just him and his dog, Buddy. All we knew at this time was he was last seen on his small boat, and had every intention of coming home that day. As weeks went by, we had heard no news. On October 14th, we received the devastating news that his body was found in P.E.I, a whole province away from us.
All of this being said, this is an extremely sudden and very expensive process, and we need help. Unexpected costs are piling up, and this is not something that happens everyday, so no one was prepared for this. My mother, who is doing her best to cover all of these costs, also has three kids, a house, and bills to keep up with, and it has become impossible. The following is a list of costs we have yet to recover from, or still have to cover:
- Trips to PEI to ID his body
- Cremation costs
- The service for family
- Buddy's (his beloved dog) veterinary costs ($500+)
- Preparing his home for the winter (repairs, bills that have not yet been paid, prepping the plumbing)
- Lawyer fees
This is not an all inclusive list, but it gives you an idea. He did not have any savings to cover these costs, so it is up to us to take care of them. We ask that if you can donate even a cent, please do. And if you can't, please share this fundraiser to help us reach our goal.
This event has been horrible and traumatic, and we hope by raising money, at least a smidge of that stress will be taken off of our shoulders. Thank you for your generosity in advance, we love every single one of you.
