On July 30th my Mother Keri-Lynn Galisky unfortunately passed away after a long and hard fought battle with colorectal cancer in one of the most somber moments of my life. My mother was my rock and champion throughout my life thus far; in her final hours when she could speak her sole concern was the well being of her family and her children.
My mother loved to sing, she was a passionate and immensely sociable person from whom I loved so much. Her kindness and personality was something others would always comment upon when discovering I was her child and I was always comforted knowing my mother had my back in all endeavors I've pursued in my life.
She was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer early in 2019 and she fought viciously and bravely, nurses frequently mentioned the kindness and grace she displayed with them everyday even in the face of her mortal peril. She truly loved her family and in turn is missed ever so much everyday.
During the process of her battle with cancer my mother was unable to work be it either a tumor making her too uncomfortable to move around capably or being in the middle of chemotherapy and treatment preventing her from being in the workplace, with her income lost my father had to be the solitary income for much of her fight over the last 2 years which included payments on their vehicles, a home and a camping trailer. Her passing came much quicker than anticipated and because of the immense amount of medication and treatment being administered to her for much of her final month she was unable to sign her will, leaving my family in the process of applying for a Grant of Administration to settle her estate, an expensive endeavour to begin with. Much worse, it was discovered the life insurance policy in the Mortage my mother and father had taken in 2009 when purchasing their home was not present in the recent policy payments leading to there being no settlement of the house payments, an already pressing and considerable expense.
In addition to not only this expense we are also now handling a $4000 bill for the memorial and cremation of my mother. With my brother only working the hours available at his company and my father bearing the now quite significant expenses of this process I have made this campaign to beseech you; colleagues, friends and strangers to help my family in bearing the costs of this difficult process in these trying times. Whatever funds can be provided is deeply welcome. All final expenses of this campaign will go towards paying the costs of the memorial held on August 13th at Saint Mary's Church in Red Deer, Alberta.
