Help cover the cost for Carlos’s funeral

Wednesday night, my sister Erika, got a phone call from her ex-husbands girlfriend that changed her entire world. Carlos, who is the father of their 2 children, had a stroke. They were trying to stop the swelling in his brain while also lowering his blood pressure. He was still verbally responsive but had no feeling in the left side of his body. Within 24 hours, things took a turn for the worst. Sometime Thursday night, Carlos had another massive stroke and became brain dead. They ran tests Friday afternoon in hopes of finding something but got news that shattered everyone’s world. There was no brain activity and he was pronounced dead at 3pm Friday April 23rd.

Carlos was not only an amazing father to two incredible children who attend Wyomissing School district, Laila who is 12 and Remi who is 8, but he was also still best friends with Erika. They did a good job co parenting and including his girlfriend, Stacey, in co parenting. Their worlds all revolved around Laila and Remi. Carlos was also a son, brother, uncle and cousin and has left behind his family and friends. Everything was so sudden, nobody had time to prepare for this mentally and financially. Now the question has been “what next?” and we are all wondering how to handle these next days with the family planning his funeral. I started this go fund me in hopes to ease some of the stress of planning and wondering how everything will be paid for. Carlos was only 34, this was not something he or anyone else thought would happen. Any bit helps. Thank you to everyone for all the love and support.
