Hello everyone,

This year, I've dedicated myself to hosting parties, spreading the vibrant culture of AfroHouse in the US, building a community in NYC, and traveling to teach and perform and bridge the gap between us dancers and the community of Angolans living in the US. I'm passionate about sharing love, happiness, and the expressive power of movement with all of you. From Seattle to New York City, Connecticut, Boston, Washington DC, Dallas, and Portland, I've had the privilege of connecting with incredible people and share my passion through dance.

One of my most rewarding experiences has been watching students transform through AfroHouse. The confidence, joy, and sense of community they gain is truly inspiring. It's these moments that drive me to continue sharing my knowledge. AfroHouse is not just a dance style; it's a cultural movement that promotes physical and mental well-being, fosters community, and celebrates diversity.

Now, I need your support to reach my goal of four thousand dollars.

In December, I'm scheduled to undergo a myomectomy, a surgical procedure to remove multiple fibroids from my uterus. Unfortunately, the severity of the condition requires open surgery. While I'm optimistic about the future and the relief this surgery will bring in terms of wider hip range of motion and back pain, the road to recovery will be challenging and require at least two months of bed rest. For someone as active and passionate as me, this forced sedentary period is a daunting prospect.

Unfortunately, even with health insurance, I'm facing substantial out-of-pocket medical costs. As someone who's relatively new to navigating the healthcare system, this unexpected financial burden has been a significant stressor.

I'm reaching out to my community of friends, family, and students for help. If you've had the chance to join one of my classes/trainings, know me personally, or simply heard of my work, and feel inclined to share and/or contribute, any amount, no matter how small, would be immensely helpful.

As a token of my gratitude for your support, I plan to offer a series of free group AfroHouse classes and discounted private lessons once I've fully recovered. Your generosity will not only help me financially but also provide me with the motivation and support I need to face this situation as it is my first time ever being hospitalized and going under.
