Stella was a dog we were asked in December of 2021 if we wanted her because she was from a litter of other chihuahuas and was at risk of death due to the cold. That was the Christmas we got our second dog and decided to call her Stella. Since then, she was a bundle of joy and love. She never bit us, and while she wasn’t the best potty trained, we all loved her for how enthusiastic and playful she was. What was supposed to be a playmate for Bella turned out to be a very big charm and joy for us in the house.
When I found her, I was terrified and hurt because I had never been in a situation like this. After many attempts and begging, the vet informed us it would be down to two options: pay 10-15k and attempt to give Stella a functioning life again, or put her to sleep. Due to our financial situation, my family could not provide what was asked. We did all the X-rays and scans; unfortunately, we came to the decision of putting Stella to sleep. This hurts writing because in my reality, this is some big never-ending nightmare. All I ask of you is to donate however much you can or share. These costs cover the cremation and bills we were charged for getting her diagnosis. I love you, Stella. My life and my family's will never be the same without you.
