Hey everyone, we are wanting to raise money for Sarah Lu’s medical expenses. Since this just happened, Josh and Steph haven’t received any bills, but we know they are coming. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Below is the original post from Stephanie about the accident explaining what happened:
There was an accident that happened on a kids train ride Saturday (6/25). Emmy was completely unharmed. Audrey was thrown out of the ride in front of her cart and then her cart ran her over. She’s banged up a bit and has an appointment later this week. (Audrey was who we knew was hurt). Sarah was thrown out but she also fell down a 10 foot drop into a shallow pond (We didn’t know that until today). Another kid also fell down with her and was able to help get her out. She was so covered in mud that even a close friend didn’t know who she was.
Once we got her cleaned off we realized she probably had a concussion and decided to take her to the ER. Sarah was having trouble holding up her head and was not her usual self. Once the ER doctor saw her things moved really quickly and we were in a room with a lot of doctors and nurses assessing her. They saw fluid in her abdomen and were concerned she had internal bleeding and we were waiting for blood work. After all the tests, X-rays, and CT’s, the neurosurgeon came in and told us she had a depressed skull fracture, concussion, and a small brain bleed that wasn’t active. They had a meeting after that and determined they didn’t need to do surgery ! We finally got results back and there was no internal bleeding either! They kept her overnight to make sure there was no neurological damage. She has a long road of recovery- about 4ish months.
From the time all of this happened to even now as we are driving home everyone has been all hands on deck. Before we left for the ER my friends family gathered to pray for her. My parents pastor just happened to be in Little Rock and he was able to come to the ER to pray for her and with us. My parents drove to come get our other two kids since we didn’t know how long we were going to need to stay. Our friends packed up our things for us and watched our girls during all the Saturday craziness. Sarah was assessed this morning and they told us we could go home but it wouldn’t be comfortable for her and we would need to make a lot of stops. She’s been doing SO good!
Our prayer request would be that her and Audrey’s pain level to go down, pray for peace of mind for the man that was driving the kid train (I know his heart is hurting), and for the doctors guidance the next few months, also that any trauma the girls have they will be able to work through easily.
We are so incredibly thankful and blessed that this situation was not worse and our babies are here with us. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped during all of this, it means more than you know and we feel the love.
