Help cover Sammy's emergency medical costs
Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Laurel and my partner Dylan and I would like to ask the communitys help to assist a dear friend with an emergency that occurred last Tuesday. Last Tuesday evening, Troy and Veronica myles' beloved dog Sammy was struck by an SUV while walking down south River Rd near his home. Sammy had pulled free of his collar and was running to greet another dog on the other side of South river. A black SUV came along and followed behind Sammy for almost 50 meters, but may not have seen him. The vehicle did not stop after hitting Sammy. Troy and Veronica were hit with a very large bill for immediate treatment that night. Unfortunately, Sammy's back right leg was shattered in the accident and even more unfortunately, it's not a treatable injury and will have to result in an amputation. Veterinary bills aside, this is a very difficult time for all involved , and we're looking to help provide some relief for the Myles family in these trying times. Sammy is a young 3 year old dog so he has MUCH life left to live and it's devastating to have an emergency such as this arise suddenly just after the holidays. Our fundraising goal will help to cover vet bills, travel to and from the vet. If we are able to assist in the amputation scheduled for this Friday, as well as chip in on a future prosthetic for Sammy's leg, we would be so happy. Troy has become a dear friend in the 4 years I've lived in antigonish and he is truly a compassionate soul who would give the shirt off his back to help others. Troy is also self employed just like myself so sudden emergency expenses such as this are especially devastating. You may have even ordered a delivery or gotten a free joke from him if you've lived in town long enough! Sammy is being treated at the antigonish veterinary clinic on Hawthorne, and his amputation is currently scheduled for this Friday. Let's help Sammys parents in getting him back to his puppy self!
