Hi everyone. I've tried putting this off but I officially need to ask for help.
As you may know, Ruby was diagnosed with Lymphoma at the end of August. We started chemo about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately at her last visit, we weren't able to do her chemo treatment because her white blood cell count was too low. They also found that her red blood cell count is extremely low making her severely anemic. The doctor gave her medicine to help try and boost her red blood cell count and gave her antibiotics to try to keep her healthy while her white blood cell count is low.
Recently, her lowered blood cell counts have been causing her to collapse and occasionally urinate/defecate on herself. This happened again this morning so I rushed her to the emergency vet.
Our initial quote for chemotherapy was roughly $8k-$9k. Most appointments cost between $300-$800 per visit. On top of that we've now had multiple additional emergency visits that cost about $1000 each. Since she has to be seen by an oncologist in Redwood City I also have to rent a car for each of her appointments. I've been able to cover these costs on my own so far but it's getting increasingly difficult and I'm not getting any reimbursement from our pet insurance. If you have the means to donate it would mean the world to me.
Ruby is my little girl and I know one day our time will come to an end. I just want to make sure I can provide the best for her until that day comes. Thank you ❤️
