I am Pastor Myisha, affectionately known in my community as Uni. My Uncle Richard Singleton suddenly and unexpectedly died on 7-30-24. It is very tragic, and his death could've been avoided. We are still trying to process this grief. We need to raise $8,000 for his funeral expenses.

My daddy Bob is a champ. My daddy had to identify my uncle’s dead body since we were out of state.

The morgue wouldn’t take my uncle’s body, because they called him a coroner’s release. So, my uncle’s body sat in his apartment while I had to arrange a funeral home in his state to pick his body up. Then a funeral home here picked up his body from the out of state funeral home and brought my uncle here to Michigan.

Before this happened though, my daddy Bob sat in my uncle’s living room with my uncle’s dead body in the bedroom for 8 hours to wait for his body to be picked up..

My daddy, loved my Uncle Richard. He was more than a brother in law, he was his brother.

That is just 1 traumatic event regarding my uncle’s death. There have been many!

My uncle was declared cognitively impaired and that’s why we were his guardians. He absconded from 2 facilities and died shortly after.

I did numerous welfare checks with the police, I spoke to the director of social work at two different facilities to ask them to help my uncle, I talked to Hospitals, Nursing Homes, I begged for help!

So, yes, I am asking for help.

My uncle deserved better. His death could’ve been avoided. The system failed him, and ignored my pleas to save his life. I also told adult protective services (they filed a report), and I told the center for aging (in Indy).

No one helped him!!!
