Help Sean Fight Throat and Neck Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Tina, and I'm fundraising for my husband.
Sean is the love of my life, best friend, rock, and husband. He has always been there for me over the years. He helped me overcome an abusive relationship with my ex-husband and supported me through severe Crohn’s disease, the loss of our son Connor, and my battle with cancer. While I was sick or dealing with the depression of losing a child, he always made sure all I had to focus on was getting better. He made sure the kids and the financial burdens that we all faced were not things I would need to worry about. He has been my rock for years.
Just recently, Sean shockingly was diagnosed with stage III tongue and neck cancer. This is a man who doesn't drink, smoke, and never did any kind of drugs. We were blindsided by this diagnosis and, as a family, are still trying to recover from the shock.
The girl in the picture is our 12 yr old daughter and softball player. Sean is her coach and she needs her father. Additionally we have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren who need him around. This is tough on our family.
As we start this journey, I am hoping you can help me do for my husband what he did for me so many times over the years and try to help reduce the stress of the financial impact cancer has on a family.
I've had to take family leave to care for him during this time. Which includes living in NYC Mon-Fri for treatments. We're away from our daughter, and things are outrageously expensive in NY.
Because he's worried about finances, he's considered not doing treatment, which would take his life in less than two years. I'm doing my best to keep money coming in.
The financial burden of driving to NYC, parking fees and all the co-pays are piling up. But MSK is the best place for treatment that is somewhat humanely. But in reality poison is poison
Even if you can’t donate, your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated. Please feel free to leave notes of encouragement, as those will help Sean navigate this very difficult path.
I will do my best to keep you updated on Sean's progress as we begin Chemo & radiation treatment on February 14th.
