Help Cover Muddy's Cancer Expenses!

I started this fundraiser on behalf of my uncle Mike, so please allow him to speak to Muddy's needs:

"They say that desperate times call for desperate measures. I’ve heard that saying forever and with this plea to help save our beloved Muddy, we can testify that is very true.

We have been a proud and loving family of 15 years, living for and taken care of each other. With modest means and lots of love, we have always managed to get by happily.

Six and half years ago, we welcomed the latest addition to our household when we brought home a beautiful loving puppy that we named Muddy. He has been the epitome of love, loyalty and friendship from the day that we all met.

We could have never asked or expected a dog to have such a wonderful impact on our lives. Muddy is a handsome, super-intelligent, caring, and humorous boy with an unwavering love and loyalty to his family. He loves everyone he meets, as anyone who has met him could attest.

Muddy is a mama’s boy and is at his happiest either surrounded by kids, friends, or family at home or at the park – roaming freely and taking in the great outdoors.

Two years ago, Muddy was diagnosed with lymphoma (cancer) at four and a half years old. The original prognosis was that he would probably only live 12-16 months. He has received chemotherapy at the University of Illinois veterinary hospital for the past two years with a couple of short breaks where he was in remission. Through it all, he has remained in fairly good health – loving his life every day though it hasn’t always been easy.

He has gone through every treatment available except one over this time. The only remaining treatment is considerably more expensive than the ones that have been so impactful up until now. We have spent several thousand dollars out of pocket to get him to this point and extended his happy, wonderful life. We are, unfortunately, now at a point where the cancer has progressed, and our only option is to begin the treatments again.

Sadly, the treatment needed will cost approximately $7,000 in all. This would be spread across a course of individual treatments across a 6-month period, but the cost is required up front.

Muddy is such a precious boy and has battled bravely because he loves hi family and loves his life with us. Out of love and desperation, we are asking anyone who can help to please donate a little or a lot so that he can begin his next round of treatments that he so desperately needs and deserves.
