Help cover medical expenses for Joe Tekeste Zemui

Our father,  Joe Tekeste Zemui unfortunately has been diagnosed with Throat Cancer and this is our last resort for helping him. He lives in Kenya where everything is paid out of pocket and medical bills are adding up for us and our family. He's in Chemo and goes in every week
and he has had surgery for it already. These donations will go towards his medical bills and living situation.

Our Father was first seen January 2022, when he reported history of Hoarseness of voice for 4 months. After doing a couple of tests revealed a huge fungating tumor arising. Biopsies taken from the tumor revealed a well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.

 

On January 2022, he was taken to theatre for excision of the tumor via laser. The tumor was noted to be arising mainly from the oropharyngeal and affecting the vallecula. Due to this, it wasn't possible to get oncologic margins and a decision was made to start him on radiotherapy immediately.

 

They were successful within 1 week. However, the stoma has failed to close spontaneously due to the neck radiation. Two attempts to close it surgically have also failed. The doctor has decided to attempt this once the effects of radiotherapy have improved.

 

During the course of radiotherapy, Mr. Tekeste developed very severe oropharyngeal mucositis. Therefore it's recommended on  tube insertion that was performed.
