I was recently diagnosed with uterine and ovarian cancer and underwent a total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy-oophorectomy. I've been told by the oncologist that I am cancer free, but I will still need chemotherapy to limit the chance of spread or recurrence, as well as ongoing CT scans and lab work. While I have insurance, the out of pocket expense for the scans alone is $250 per scan, plus the copays for the procedure to install a port ($335), doctor visits, and various medications I will need. I'm not yet sure what the chemo treatments will cost, but my coinsurance for remicade infusions for psoriatic arthritis has been around $500 per infusion, so I imagine chemo will be similar, if not more.
I don't like asking for help, especially not financial support, but my loved ones have convinced me to set this thing up, and I will be so grateful for any help folks can provide. If you don't have it to give, I get it - no pressure at all.
