UPDATE: my insurance has denied to cover part of my surgery and I now owe $77,000.

this doesn’t even include the back surgery I have to have later this year

In November of 2023, I was injured in a multi-vehicle accident that left me with a mild brain injury, along with a spinal cord injury. I suffered through 9 outpatient procedures involving my neck and low back: injections, nerve blocks for my neck and back, along with oxygen and vestibular therapy due to my brain injury.

The person who hit me had state minimal coverage, which, after the other 8 people who filed for compensation, left me with a very small amount that won’t even cover the over $300,000 in medical bills. I have private health insurance however they only chose to pay a certain amount towards my $149,000 surgery.

I currently owe my surgeon $28,000 for my neck surgery that was an emergency due to spinal cord injury, numbness, and dysfunction in my hands that hindered my ability to perform daily tasks.
