We’re trusting God through this difficult journey, but we also know we can’t do it alone. My brother just got accepted into the Mayo Clinic is having to travel for medical testing that could lead to life-changing answers. Ryan has Xanthoma disseminatum rare disease that is causing issues with his pancreas and liver. This disease is so rare that noone in Oklahoma can treat him. We just found out that after the initial appointments in August, Ryan will have to return to Mayo in Sept to see the gastro Dr. because that is the soonest they can see him. This will unfortunately incur additional housing and airfare costs. My mom just had to put $5,000 on her credit card just to cover the cost of his appointments and testing prior to him going in August. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include the cost of treatments, traveling out of state, a place to stay, or meals while he’s there for 7–10 days — possibly longer if more appointments are needed.
