Matt is 37 year old single dad who has Olivopontocerebellar atrophy (OPCA) with Spinocerebellar ataxia 2 (SCA2). It’s an extremely rare fatal genetic disease. Matt has lost his grandmother, mother, and aunt to this horrific disease.

He recently lost his rental home and caregiver and due to the progression of the disease, he is now unable to live on his own. Sadly the system is broken - for a disabled person under 62 years of age there is hardly any assistance given. Matt has a small disability check to put towards housing, but the remainder and bulk of the financial burden falls on the shoulders of the family members.  The cost of care for a disabled individual is very high… And only increases as the disease progresses.

The family’s focus right now should be on providing the best quality of life for Matt, but they are having to deal with all of this financial stress. We are asking if you feel led, to please donate to help support Matt. The funds will go directly to provide housing and care for him and keeping him out of a nursing home. Matt’s sister, Stephanie Montgomery will be managing the funds on his behalf.
