We're reaching out because someone we love needs us right now - and we know you love her too.

It is with deep sadness that we share that Nicole Jardim's mother, Marguerite, passed away on March 6th.

Marguerite suffered a massive heart attack at her home in Antigua. The damage was catastrophic - requiring an immediate airlift to Trinidad and emergency open-heart surgery. In the days that followed, her kidneys failed, and a CT scan revealed evidence of mini strokes. Nicole and her sister Chantal were by her side through all of it.

Nicole and Chantal have paid over $45,000 USD out of pocket for medical care - costs the hospital required upfront before treatment could begin. Marguerite did not have private health insurance, and while Antigua's Medical Benefits system may eventually reimburse some of it, everything had to be paid in full first, with no clear timeline.

Additionally, they have had to cover the cost of plane tickets, a place to stay while clearing out Marguerite's apartment, cremation, and lawyer’s fees associated with settling her will through the probate process, which is required in Antigua.

We - a small group of Nicole's closest friends - created this fundraiser because Nicole never would have done it herself. She is a private person who has spent her entire career pouring into others. Asking for help does not come naturally to her. But what she and her sister are carrying right now is beyond what anyone should have to bear alone.

Some of Nicole’s close friends have already stepped in privately to help with immediate expenses, and we’re sharing this so the broader community has a chance to support her as well.
