Help Cover Long COVID Costs for Frontline Worker
Donation protected
I'm a health care professional who got hit with a high viral load of COVID in Jan 2020 working on the front lines in Urgent Care with recent immigrants and Refugees, the unhoused population, and the underserved population on Medicaid or uninsured in Worcester, MA. I currently live in Tempe, AZ and continue to work from home since I am dealing with so many immune and autoimmune illnesses since Long COVID took hold. I've got good health insurance, but there's still a $4000 out of network deductible, and the specialists who are expert in dealing with my illnesses are cash-pay only. I could use help with all these medical expenses, so far totalling over $6000 for the cash-pay services in 2025 alone (as of June). My $4000 deductible resets on July 1. That's $14,000 out of pocket July 1, 2024-July 1, 2025. I am still working full-time, but it's a huge percentage of my income, and I appreciate any financial assistance.
I also appreciate your well-wishes and prayers!
I'm dealing with Long COVID, hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachcardia Syndrome), OH (Orthostatic Hypotension), psoriatic arthritis, MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome), Adrenal Failure and long term glucocorticoid use (osteopenia, diabetes mellitus type 2, colon rupture, partial colon resection x2, non-healing wound with wound vac x22 months), immune suppression, ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), and so much more. And just this past month, I've been diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. It's a lot.
I'm hoping these complications of Long COVID will eventually resolve, but I'm now in year 6, still plodding along with enormous medical bills and not a lot of hope.
