Help cover Lola’s surgery costs
At the beginning of January, Stephanie opened up her heart and home when she rescued perfect little Lola from the shelters of LA. Lola is truly the best girl and little lover. Lola always had a little wheezing with her breathing, but nothing of concern until yesterday. All of a sudden sweet little Lola was having difficulty breathing and dry heaving like she was trying to vomit. Lola then started crying and whimpering so Stephanie immediately took her to the emergency vet (a $6,000 visit) only to have her worst fear become reality- Lola is very, very sick and needs surgery if she makes it through the night.
At the vet, Stephanie found out Lola was born with a condition where her internal organs don’t line up properly and a hernia was putting pressure on her stomach, which was then being pushed up into her lungs. Meaning every time Lola took a breath she was in a lot of pain and her lungs couldn’t expand fully. The next step was making it through the night.
After a very long night with Lola having a lot of difficulty breathing in an oxygen tank, they’re taking her by ambulance at 7am to have surgery to get her stomach out of her lungs and try to realign her organs. This is a very high risk surgery but also high success rate. Lola needs this surgery to survive, but it’s extremely expensive. With surgery Stephanie is getting hit with a $22,000 vet bill, which will probably end up being more with aftercare costs. Stephanie is at the vet with Lola right now heading into surgery.
