It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of Lilly Javorina's sudden passing. She touched the lives of many, always offering kindness and support to those around her. As we come together to honor her memory, we are reaching out for help to cover the funeral and memorial expenses that have arisen.
The services will be held on Monday, July 21st at 11:00am at St. Sava Serbian Cemetery (4355 E. 2nd St., East Los Angeles, CA 90022), a place where friends and family can gather to pay their respects. In light of the overwhelming love from the community, we have created this GoFundMe to assist her son, Peter, during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly to helping Peter with these expenses and ensure that Lilly receives the funeral she deserves.
Thank you for considering supporting this cause and honoring a remarkable woman who gave so much to others.

Ljiljana (Lilly) Javorina (nee Vujic), age 75, of Burbank, California passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Lilly was born in Grad Stalac, Serbia (former Yugoslavia). Lilly is preceded by her husband Dusan Javorina. She is survived by son Peter Javorina (Nicole Brannon); and son Sasha Vujic (Erica Hayward).
Lilly was born on May 21, 1950, in Grad Stalac, Serbia, where she spent her early childhood surrounded by the rich traditions and culture that would shape her entire life. When she was seven years old, her family moved to Belgrade. At the age of fourteen, Lilly embarked on a journey that would define her life’s path when she moved to New York. With determination and resilience, she completed her college education.
In the late 1970s, Lilly made Burbank her home, where she would spend the remainder of her life raising her sons and building a community of friends that were more like family. Her house was always open and full of friends coming and going, playing card games, cooking food, and in general just having a fun time together.
Lilly was the proud owner of Restaurant Belgrade. It was more than just a fun atmosphere and delicious Balkan cuisine— it was a bridge between cultures. Through her exceptional cooking, she introduced countless Americans to the rich flavors and traditions of Serbian cuisine, while providing a beloved gathering place for the Serbian community to feel at home.
Lilly often volunteered at her local Serbian churches and catered many celebrations including Slavas, birthdays, christenings, and weddings. She truly loved to cook and was particularly talented at cooking for an army of friends and family members.
A passionate traveler, Lilly had a great love for exploring the world. She loved traveling but particularly loved cruises and visiting family in Hawaii and Europe.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her incredible cooking, her community spirit, and living her life to the fullest. Lilly's memory will forever remain in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Memory Eternal.
