Hello, I have had the worst two months of my life. Normally I do not like asking for help like this, but I do not have another choice.

By The state of Georgia I am legally blind. There are some things that I need help doing, and one of thoes things is Driving. I use something called Bioptics. You can almost think of these as Glasses with a binocular either on one of the lenses, or both depending on what the person getting them prefers. These allow people who have far vision issues to see things like lights, cars, and signs easier so that we can use the road like other people.

Around a month ago, I was pulled over by a cop because of an out taillight. I was informed that my license had been suspended, and had been as much since the start of 2025. I had no idea of this. After calling around to the DMV, different eye doctors, and finally a place called Center for the Visually Impaired (CVI). I was informed that I was supposed to receive mail telling me I had to secdule something called a Bioptic Renewal Appointment every Two years. There is nothing on my license about this, I was not told this when getting my license, and I never received the mail for this. I never received any mail, notice, or some kind of notification that there was anything wrong with my license or that I needed to get this appointment.

So, I end up having to go to court because of driving on a suspended license (that I did not know was suspended, or that had anything wrong with it.) Everything That i told you I also told the judge. On top of things like my mom getting cancer, having to pay for a 1600 dollar repair for my car (the out taillight i got stopped for),my mom's car getting repossessed (We did not have a car for almost a solid month), and then not having insurance. this has made getting to these appointments harder to try and even understand what had happened with my license. I was able to get appointments and I had proof of going to them to actually start the process to get my license back, but the judge thought I should have to pay a 1,256 dollar fine, 24 hours of community service, and a year of probation. I do not have any other option but to ask for help covering this fine. The goal is set at 1350 dollars to try and cover the fine and any other fees/unexpected things tacked onto getting my license back and getting me out of this legal trouble i'm in.

Any help would be appreciated from not only Me, but my family over all. This has put a massive strain on me and has made things like helping rase my nieces, getting back into college, and my independence overall a lot harder.
