**In Loving Memory of Kiwi – Our Sweet Girl**
We (Rachel and Kaley) welcomed Kiwi into our lives in August 2022 when she was 12 weeks old. Kiwi brought endless joy, laughter, and love to their home with her sweet, gentle spirit and ever-floppy charm.
In late April 2025, Kiwi suddenly became ill. After emergency surgery to remove a toy she had swallowed, her condition didn’t improve. She continued to throw up, and despite everyone's best efforts—including the amazing veterinary team—Kiwi passed away on the morning of May 27 at just 2 years and 11 months old.
It was discovered that Kiwi had been silently battling an autoimmune disease, likely myasthenia gravis. The toy wasn’t the cause of her decline, but it uncovered a deeper illness that had been affecting her all along—interrupting nerve signals to her muscles. Looking back, her lifelong floppiness was likely a symptom of her condition. In her final hours, Kiwi had lost her vision, was battling pneumonia from fluid aspiration, and was clearly suffering.
Despite her pain, we were able to be with her through the night. She had so many snuggles—especially from Kaley in the morning—and we made sure she left this world surrounded by love, warmth, and kisses.
Kiwi was more than a pet; she was family. She was our comfort, our joy, and our sweet shadow. Saying goodbye was heartbreaking, but we are grateful for every moment we had with her.
This GoFundMe is to help cover the costs of her emergency surgery, hospital stay, and final care. Any support is appreciated more than words can express. Thank you for helping us honor Kiwi’s memory.
We miss her more than we can say.
