My name is Kai Tave, and I've had a pretty rough few months.

Thankfully it's been nothing life-threatening, but it has been incredibly stressful, anxiety-inducing, and financially costly. Back in June, my cat became ill, and after months of veterinary exams and treatment, he unfortunately needed to be put down in August (cancer and an associated viral infection). Then this last September, my apartment building's new owner made the decision to require all tenants to vacate, as they plan to do a full interior renovation. And now I've been informed that my car, which I'll need to be relying upon more than ever to commute to and from work, is in need of some expensive repairs.

I never like the feeling of doing one of these crowdfunders, probably because it always happens during the most stressful moments of my life (it's never "I should ask people to give me several thousand dollars because everything's going great"), but with successive costs piling up in short succession, I'm once again turning to the generosity of strangers to help me with a difficult moment.

I understand things are tight for a lot of people right now, and there's absolutely no obligation for anyone to donate who can't. Even if you just feel like passing it along or reposting it, that would be appreciated.
