On Sunday, August 24th, we lost John Meskill. He was a devoted husband, a loving stepfather, and a cherished son, brother, and uncle. His death came after a sudden and difficult battle with sepsis. He passed away at Palos Hospital, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

From the moment John entered our mother’s life, he embraced me and my siblings as if we were his own kids. Through all of our ups and downs and our major milestones, from football games to physics exams, John was there to cheer us on and support us. Not to mention, he was my mom’s knight in shining armor. He came into her life during a particularly rough time and he never left. At the end of the day, he was always her #1 supporter and he made sure to provide for her and us kids. For that, no words can express how grateful we are to have had him in our lives.

As we grieve this unexpected loss, we’re also faced with the financial burden of funeral/memorial expenses and medical bills. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would help us properly honor John’s memory and keep our family afloat.
