Help Cover Glenn Eastman's End of Life's Costs

Donation protected
My father, Glenn Eastman, passed away in the early morning of September 1st. To move my father into a boarding care facility after his 3-week stay in the hospital, we paid $3,500. Cremation services have been an additional $2,200. Any help to cover these costs is greatly appreciated.

He had survived a quadruple bypass in 2020, major cancer surgery and chemo in 2022, skin cancer surgeries in 2023, and was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the start of 2024.

Anyone who knew my dad would never categorize him as a "strong" man. That's been the silver lining for all of this; I've got to see just how strong he truly is. Strong in character as well as the ability to press on.

He was a veteran, drafted during Vietnam. He spent time in the brig, not because he was some rebel upstart, but because he missed the bus back to base when on leave. He was book smart and knew people, even if the world itself got overwhelming for him.

He made friends wherever he went. Not because he was especially gregarious, but because his humor and good nature always shone through.

He was kind. He was compassionate. He loved films and books, and his final regret was that he had so many stories left to discover. Although, he was happy to not have to sit through another production of Midsummer next spring.

The past two months have been filled with shared tears, deep conversations, becoming the man my father needed me to be. Connecting with him in a new way, and I'll always be grateful for the time we had to have these talks and make these adjustments.

Right now, we do not have any plans for services. My dad never showed a great interest in it whenever I asked, and being a small family of simple means, I'm trying to provide where I can.

I thank you all for your love and support of me and my father. Keep his kindness alive. Go see a movie or read a book in his memory. And embrace the people close to you and tell them how much they mean to you. Life is a gift that we all get to share, and every shared moment enriches us all.

Much love,

Mike
