It is incredibly difficult to say that Gizmo unexpectedly passed away today August 21st at around 6am. He was attacked by a coyote. He had suffered severe wounds to the head and a punctured lung. I believe he also had a broken leg.
I heard cat screams like I’ve never heard before. I ran outside and to find my baby badly injured, scared and shaking. I managed to scare away the coyote, grabbed Gizmo and rushed him to the ER with my sister. He was having trouble breathing, and I tried to keep him conscious as best as I could. I kept telling him it would be okay as I held him in my arms. His breathing slowed more and more, his eyes turned foggy, and his body limp. He passed away in my arms before we could reach the ER. As he took his final breaths, I hope he felt how truly loved he was. I hope he passed peacefully. Gizmo, you will forever be my guardian angel.
At the vet they confirmed his death. Nothing could’ve possibly prepared us for this news. He was just alive 24hrs ago.
He was the sweetest boy ever. Such a handsome little boy. Gizmo you are so precious, thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives. Every one lucky enough to meet you loved you. And you loved them. Knowing I will never get to hold him again. That we won’t hear his gentle meows greeting us as we walk by, absolutely destroys me.
Those who know us know that we have three cats. Gizmo, Nova, and Juno. One for each of us. They are tied to the hip just like me and my sisters are. Thank you for all the cuddles, and the biscuits baby Giz.
I made this go fund me to help us cover the cost for his cremation. As well as the remaining amount of debt we have from his recent surgery.
We appreciate all the donations and support. If you can’t donate please share the link on your platforms if possible. It truly means a lot. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Gizmo would’ve loved you all<3
