I want t start by saying that this is not easy for me to do. I dont like having to ask for help financially and even more so, i hate the circumstances for my having to ask for help. But, here goes.....
My name is Chrystal Fowler-Griffith. I am the daughter of Ronald Fowler Jr. Last night, my dad was tragically taken when the home where he lived in Boscawen, NH caught on fire. From my understanding he was asleep at the time the fire broke out. I was told that his roommate tried to wake him up but his bedroom door was locked and he had taken sleeping medication and put earplugs in, so they were unsuccessful. I was called around 12:30 by a friend of my dad's and she told me that the roommate called her and said that my dad was in a fire didn't make it. I immediately jumped in my car and drove to his house just 3 minutes away. When I arrived to his street, there were dozens of firefighters on scene. I ran from the end of the road to his house and was approached by some firefighters who asked who i was. I explained to them who i was and that I was told by his friend that my dad was inside. I kept begging for them to tell me he didn't die. But they grabbed a folding chair and said I should sit down. They said that someone in the home didn't make it, but didn't know for sureof their identity. They asked which bedroom he slept in. I pointed to the right side of the house and said his room was on the second floor. They then confirmed that that was the room they found the man in. My brother Ron and my husband Kirby arrived a couple minutes later. the firefighters gave us the information they had so far and said that he was going to be brought to concord hospital for an autopsy. As I was walking back to my car with my husband, i looked back at the house and saw a group of firefighters in the corner over a white blanket. I yelled is that my dad? Some bystanders confirmed that it was. I dont think i will ever get that image out of my head.
This whole situation doesn't seem real. We are all devastated over this loss and in complete shock and disbelief over the way in which he was taken from us.
We understand that this time of year is especially difficult for people to help financially with Christmas coming up, but anything helps if you're able to. If you cant just please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Our dad didn't have life insurance or a retirement, so we will have to cover funeral costs. Again, I really don't like having to ask for help in this way, but anything helps. Thank you all so much ❤️
