Help cover expenses while recovering

Hello Everyone I'm asking for help foy my Mother who is a Veteran. For the past seven years my Mother have been struggling with kidney fauilure. She has been waiting to be placed on the list for a kidney for years while waiting for the transplant she has gone through alot of ups and downs such as 3 strokes a 2 weeks in comma lossing her sight and lost in strength in her legs which severely limited her mobilty and do things by herself.

There has been many years of emotional challenges in 2015 she fell ill and got pneumonia and she though she was not going to make it all for the grace of God she got recoverd and got better but her kidney was still giving her problems, these last couple of years my Mother has been doing dialisys every 3 days but this has made her health not so well.

After waiting and praying she has got her call for her kidney we are all so happy to hear that but we can't afford all the expenses that this will take place while I'm taking care of her. Im her only son and im Currently living in North Carolina I will have to flight to Texas to be with and help her to get well as her Dr mention this is not a 2 week or 3 weeks recovery this is a 2 months during this time I will be on FMLA but I will not be pay for this time off. I will still need to take care of my familiy and pay bills at home and we will need to cover expenses like food and gas while i'm in Texas to take my Mother to her appointments this is why we are asking for any help to my mother and myself at this time.
