My amazing mom was called home Monday evening when she lost her battle with cancer. She never really wanted to talk about it because she truly believed that she could beat it. She did beat it twice but each time within months it would be back. The last time it had moved to her stomach and the doctors gave her a 30% survival rate with 5 years. I quickly watched the smiling light that my mom brought to everyone she met and every room she walked into dim. She was in so much pain. She was struggling to eat. She was admitted into KMC on Saturday July 12th. They decided to put a feeding tube in. They were working on getting her released. Sent my dad home with all the necessary feeding tube supplies. I spent all day sitting with her on Tuesday. We talked to a lawyer about setting up a trust, paid the $3000, which sadly was never finalized. I came up after work Wednesday so she could sign the paperwork hiring the lawyer. She was in terrible pain. She told me to leave and had the doctors even call my dad to tell him not to come. She signed the papers and we left. They decided to take out the feeding tube. They were basically trying to keep her comfortable. Saturday morning I received a call from my dad that they were talking Hospice. The Schneidmiler House did an amazing job keeping her comfortable. I want to thank all the people who were able to come by and say their goodbyes to her. She was truly loved by everyone who had the chance to meet her.
She was a member of the BFC (Bikers for Christ) and loved supporting and raising money for groups. She would be the first one to go and put out a million flyers to get the word out. She loved to read. She loved spending time with friends and family and was the best grandma. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body. She went through hardships in her life and was always able to raise above them. We will greatly miss her but know that she’s in heaven now and doesn’t have to feel pain.
Every time you see a butterfly or the color purple it’s a reminder that she’s watching over all of us.
She leaves behind her love of her life Ken Lind, her sons Jake Lind and David Connell, her daughter Crystal Lind, Amanda Connell, Lacy Lind and Ashlynn Lind.
we are fundraising to help cover final expenses and costs associated with the passing of my mom.
Memorial date is TBD at this moment in time.
