As many of you know, I’m staying in Birmingham, Alabama, to participate in a medical trial for cystic fibrosis at UAB. The trial is for gene therapy, manufactured by a company called ReCode. This is a huge step towards the cure for CF, and I was excited to pass screening and be able to assist as a participant! Partaking in the study means I have to stay in Alabama until May 27th, which is a whole 7 days longer than initially planned. With that, and some other added expenses, funds are looking a little tight despite some awesome fundraising that we did last year. I’m getting nervous about having my finances covered. I thank my friends and family to the moon and back for all that they have done! And I’m so grateful I get to be a part of this study and help science continue to move forward. We are closer every day to a cure.
