I had major surgery on July 25 for cancer of my mouth and tongue. They had to remove approximately 1/3rd of my tongue, and all of my lymph nodes. They re-built my tongue with skin grafts from my left thigh and forearm. I had a tracheostomy for 3 weeks so I could give my new tongue time to heal. I’m still eating through a feeding tube until the sutures and stitches in my mouth come out and I can start speaking normally, eating, and drinking again. They also had to pull a llot of my teeth too, including some of my bottom front teeth to access my tongue, so I will need partial dentures and I don’t have dental insurance. I won't be able to work for at least a month after surgery and am in need of financial assistance to pay for me to get dentures due to teeth being pulled during surgery, tuition for some training I would like to take while recooperating from surgery, medical expenses, and regular living expenses while I go without income until I’m able to get back to work.
