We took in an FIV+ cat that had previously lived in our house and had been dumped a few owners ago. He had a toe abscess that never healed with medical intervention. After I got home from work, I found that he acutely was unable to use either of his back legs. In cats, that can mean a lot of things, but all of them have a bad prognosis. We elected to euthanize our sweet boy. We still unfortunately owe for his euthanasia, which is a struggle when you have so many other living cats that need care.
