Hello everyone,

This past weekend (1/6) we found out that my mother-in-law Edna developed a subdural hematoma that is life threatening if left untreated. This requires surgery to drain the build up of blood that is in her brain. If left untreated this could be fatal and doctors are strongly recommending the surgery be done immediately.

By the grace of God I am happy to report that Edna, is doing well given the circumstances but she will need lots of prayers and care for the road ahead.

Unfortunately, Edna’s health insurance SUS (our equivalent to Medicare) is not able to expedite her surgery which leaves us with only a private hospital option as her case is too dangerous to wait. Because of this all expenses will be out of pocket for Edna and the surgery is BRL $50,000+ of just medical expenses, not including post-operative care and daily expenses for them as they will need to take some time away from work to focus on Edna’s health.

Both Edna and Edmar have always been generous with their heart and blessed many around them and we would like to help in blessing them in this difficult circumstance. The family graciously asks for prayers and any possible donation to help them cover these significant expenses, no amount is too little. Anything and everything will be appreciated and we thank you all for the continued support.

Pela graça de Deus vou começar relatando que a Edna, minha sogrinha, está ótima.

Neste último fim de semana (1/6) descobrimos que, após uma série de sintomas, que Edna desenvolveu um hematoma subdural que requer cirurgia para drenar o sangue que está acumulado entre o crânio e o cérebro. Um acúmulo de sangue pode causar muitos problemas e ser fatal, então os médicos estão recomendando a cirurgia para drenar o sangue o mais rápido possível.

Infelizmente, o SUS não tem vagas disponíveis por algumas semanas e é muito perigoso esperar, então precisaremos pagar particular. O custo é de mais 50 mil reais só de despesas médicas, isso não inclui o pós-operatório e despesas do tempo que precisam ficar longe de casa e do trabalho (8 horas fora) para focar na saúde da Edna.

Tanto Edna quanto Edmar sempre tiveram um coração generoso e sempre abençoaram muitos ao seu redor, com amor e financeiramente. A família pede que se você tenha alguma possibilidade para ajudar a cobrir essas despesas, por menor que seja, por favor, doe. Qualquer quantia será muito apreciada juntamente com as suas orações.
