Help Cover Debra Ann Eveland's Funeral and Medical Costs

Donation protected
On August 1, 2025, we lost our beloved sister, Debra Ann Eveland, after her 30-year battle with MS. Deb was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She faced her battle with MS with remarkable courage and always maintained a positive attitude. In lieu of flowers, Deb’s husband, Eldon, of 49 years, and her 3 sons need help with funeral and medical costs.

Deb was the first of eight children born to Walter and Bessie Ingraham and granddaughter to William and Ida Hunnewell in Whitefish, MT on January 16, 1959. Being the first of eight children, she grew up close to all her siblings showing them who was in charge throughout her life. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1976, where she met the love of her life on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.

On August 21, 1976, she married Eldon (Shorty) Eveland in Sandpoint, ID. They welcomed their first son Jeffrey in Sandpoint before moving back to the Flathead Valley. They then welcomed 3 more children, Eric, Emily, and Andrew in Whitefish.

Deb had a passion for teaching young children, which she pursued after their move to Columbia Falls, dedicating her time to pre-school and kindergarten students. She also developed a talent for baking, honing her skills as a baking assistant at the Viking Lodge in Whitefish, and creating countless memorable birthday, wedding, and anniversary cakes for family and friends. In 1992, Deb and Eldon moved to Libby, where Deb played a key role in opening the new McDonald’s and served as store manager for many years. She retired after being diagnosed with MS.

During her retirement, and after all her children graduated, she had many hobbies including gardening, canning, and quilting. She often made beautiful blankets and small ornaments for her loved ones. In their free time Eldon and Deb were deeply involved with their Libby church and community.

Deb found immense joy in spending time with her two grandsons, Jacob and Isaac (children of Jeffrey), and her two granddaughters, Taylor and Mackenzie (children of Eric). Every summer, her three sons and four grandchildren would spend the entire season at her home in Libby. Deb and Eldon also cherished their travels, particularly to the Oregon Coast. They also enjoyed camping with Deb’s family every Labor Day weekend where a good time was had by all. Coming from a large family, there was always a lively gathering for birthdays and holidays, which Deb treasured.

A celebration of life will be held on September 6, 2025 11:30a at the Libby Church of Christ. Join us for a Potluck Lunch to Share and Reminisce your favorite memories of Deb.

We are immensely grateful for the support received during this difficult time.
