Help Cover Costs for Car Crash Victim

On Friday, September 5, around 7:21 PM in Aurora, CO, I was delivering food for DoorDash when at Racine and 11th Ave, an ambulance with no sirens or lights ran the stop and crashed into the passenger side of my new Ford Escape. To be honest, I didn’t even need a new car, but the last one I bought used broke down with $14K still left on it. The dealer offered to pay it off which then almost doubled my payments, thus my reason for working multiple jobs to afford the new expense.

I’m lucky no critical injuries were caused, my car can be fixed, and I’m still here to tell my story.

Because my Blue Bird (its nickname) is a brand new and high tech, it alerted, “brace for impact,” at the time of the incident before calling 911. Immediately another ambulance arrived to take me to the hospital and another one was there to investigate the accident.

I was in so much shock with an impact to my right rib cage, leg, left wrist and right bicep yet because I was wearing my seatbelt, only my wrist appeared broken.

It made me very angry and sad that I was in the right of way yet the police still gave me a citation at the hospital.

At the scene, he asked all the questions, trying to find guilt rather than the true evidence that the ambulance on duty did not have the sirens nor lights on. I was also asked whether I was wearing my seatbelt, and if I yielded to the ambulance. I said I was going 25MPH, that the ambulance should have stopped at the stop sign because they were off duty and I had the right of way, no stop sign. I was in the right.

Later that night at the hospital, the police approached me with a citation. He said he didn’t have good news for me, he said, “actually they were on duty, I was on,” but then why didn’t they have their lights on? I cried so hard, and all the emotions just poured out nonstop, throughout that night, I prayed nonstop and had a dream the sky (I couldn’t even get into my apartment, I left my house keys in the car) opened up and I could see daylight!

My car was taken to the impound, and I called a friend the next day asking for help because I could not afford to get it out. It’s a new car, and at the time I was delivering food trying to come up with money to get the plates and all the registration costs, but instead, I was hit and left with more bills to pay.

My insurance will not cover the collision because I reinstated the plan at the accident, maxing out my credit card. I had no idea the bill wasn’t deducted just a week before the accident.

I have to admit, I do need the help. I’m here because I believe God saved me that day. In another dream, every wall I touched played music and produced colorful mosaic patterns. My car was also on the road again. I believe in my dreams because I also got into an apartment which is much nicer, large, and more affordable because I share it with a roommate. Before signing that lease, I dreamt security was standing outside the master bedroom shower making sure the tub wasn’t being used. It’s funny because my roommate doesn’t like tubs, and we got approved to get the apartment the day after my dream!

I’m doing my best to get back on my feet and settle here in the Denver area but it has been a hard transition from having lived comfortably in remote areas in the past. I’m grateful for the friend and the stranger who helped get my car out of the police impound because those fees would have kept compiling.

Please help me at your own will, and share this GoFundMe if possible to help me cover my registration, court and medical costs along with other fees that will incur as a result. So far, if we’re to add everything up, here is an estimate summary of the fees:

Retrieving car from the police impound: $395.00, could have been more, thanks to the friend who lend me $380 and the stranger who lend me another $100

Medical Bill: $767.60, not including the ambulance bill

Future Car Repairs: $3,000 or more; Lawyer Fee: $1,500

Total: Nearly $6,000 or more

I'm asking for half of this to help pay for attorney fees. My court date is October 27, 2025. Lastly, I need an additional $1,500 for a lawyer to represent me.

If unable to donate to this GoFundMe, please pray for me because God obviously in this story!

Thank you, and God bless!
